Low Carb Sausage Balls
In June 2019, I took a HIPAA compliant DNA test that answered every question I have ever had about my health & wellness! This cheek swab blew my mind! I found out that I have a high sensitivity to carbohydrates and a low sensitivity to fats. This DNA report gave me personalized guidance for what I can do to use my DNA to my advantage and be the healthiest version of me! It’s actually 46 pages of my health and wellness info, but these are just two things that jumped out at me!
I eat tons of fruits and veggies every day (my goal is 5 veggies and 2 fruits every day!) and I love to pick great proteins to eat as well. I eat healthy fats and I get my carbohydrates through fruits and veggies, mostly. My tummy feels so much better and the weight is finally coming off, after baby #4!
This recipe is one of my favorites! It’s not exactly the same texture as the southern version you love. But it is low carb and it does taste awesome!
I hope you enjoy it!
Low Carb Sausage Balls
Ingredients:
-1 lb sausage (I get the kind that is not in a casing- it’s just normal ground breakfast sausage.)
-2 cups shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese
-1/2 cup coconut flour
-1/2 cup almond flour
-1 teaspoon double acting baking powder (Don’t have double acting? Use 2 teaspoons of normal baking powder!)
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl.
- Roll into balls.
- Cook at 350 for about 15 minutes, or until the sausage balls are turning a little golden. Cut through one to see if it’s cooked!
- These are so delicious! Snack on a few and enjoy!
