Homeschoolin’ with the Witts!

Welcome to year 3 of homeschool, Witt kids!

We made this decision back in 2018 for a few reasons:

1. God told us to do it. Boom!
2. I desperately wanted more time with my children. It seemed like life was so fast paced. They’d wake up early for school (it was chaotic most mornings, unfortunately), they’d come home exhausted, and then we’d rush to church, sports, or something else. Felt like a really chaotic groundhog day.
3. We wanted to travel as a family.

We loved and still love our elementary school. Their teachers and the staff are absolutely fantastic! We had an incredible public school experience and we miss them!

We use the Abeka curriculum and the reason I chose it was plain & simple: I fell in love with it! I’m a former teacher and when I compared our state standards to Abeka’s curriculum, I was blown away. Should we ever decide to send our kids back to public school, they will be more than ready to excel because of their schooling with Abeka!

2018: We chose the parent-led Abeka curriculum because I wanted the focused time with my kids!

2019: They were ready for more independence, so we chose the Abeka Academy. They loved it!

2020: We’re doing our own hybrid version! I’m teaching my children Language Arts with the parent-led Abeka curriculum and they are doing the Abeka Academy for Bible, Math, Science and Social Studies!

I can’t wait to fill y’all in on this hybrid experience for our 3rd year of homeschooling!
